This is appropriate because barrel plating is more cost effective and overall efficient when employed in the electroplating of large amounts of fairly small parts and components. Metals Involved in Barrel Plating
As is the case with all forms of electroplating, most common metals are able to be employed either as a base or an overlay in barrel plating. Common metals used as an overlay are: copper, gold, nickel, palladium, rhodium, silver and tin.

Barrel plating requires, for the most part, barrels or other containers in which the process occurs. It is not a complex process but it does require experience and skill. The process remains a favorite because of:
