Some jargon explanation might be needed here. What is a bi-fold window? If we know that; we can begin to understand what the features are; how these features can give us advantages and; then, we can start to figure out the benefits of using bi-fold windows.
So, What Are They?
Obviously, the word refers to windows and we all know what they are and that they come in many different design types, shapes and sizes. Most are made of glass which is fitted into a frame that is fixed within the structure of a building. They can be found indoors but, more often than not, are on the exterior of the building. Some may be permanently closed; but, the majority may be opened in one way or another.

Window Opening Equipment
Some windows have a hinge on one side and can be swung open away from their support side. Others slide in rails and can be moved to the side to expose an opening (this can also be arranged to slide the window up and down). Others have hinges on both sides but positioned in the vertical center of the frame so they open with a push out or pull in motion. Side hinged windows generally give the widest unobstructed opening – sliding types have to deal with having the open windows stacked behind one that is closed.
What If You Want A Wider Opening?
If you have seen those folding partitions that are used to close off or open up parts of a larger room (like some function rooms have); you may have noticed how separate panels are hinged to each other so that; when slid along; they fold onto each other in a concertina like manner. If there were only two partitions; they would be bi-folding.
Usually there are more than two; so, perhaps multi-folding would be a better word? But, whatever you call them; and, if you use the concept on windows; you can easily open up a space that can be as wide as you want it to be. This is the prime benefit of having bi-folding windows.
