Any student in India considering completing an MBBS abroad needs to be very careful in selecting both the country as well as the university or college. Not all medical colleges and universities recruiting students from India are MCI/NMC approved.
If students attend a medical college or university for their MBBS that is not MCI/NMC approved, they cannot complete the screening test to work as a doctor in India. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for students to enroll in these programs only to find out they cannot take the MCI screening to work within India or many other countries.
Only a small number of medical colleges and universities approved by MCI/NMC offer the MBBS in Georgia. At the same time, all colleges and universities are recruiting students from India. Take the time to review the latest guidelines by MCI/NMC before starting the enrollment process.
Only those foreign Medical graduates would be eligible to appear for MCI Screening Test (which will be replaced by NEXT) (and thereby be eligible to practice as doctors in India), who are also eligible to practice as doctors in the country where their foreign medical college is located.
Admissions for MBBS in Georgia
One advantage to the MBBS in Georgia is that there is no entrance exam. However, the admissions process to any school still takes time. It is essential for students to have all the necessary documentation, which includes a Skype interview to determine the level of English competency and suitability for the program.
All students must have Ministry Approval to attend schools in Georgia. Once accepted, they must apply for a visa for Georgia. This visa is a 90-day student visa, with the need to complete a visa extension for a Temporary Residence Certified before the end of that ninety days.
We offer students an alternative option to an MBBS in Georgia. To learn more about the advantages of an MBBS in the Caribbean, contact us.
